It can be a weird time of life to be running your business, on your own.
Whether weird because you’ve spent all your life working for someone else, or weird because it feels a bit indulgent, or weird because you’re scared you’ve made a really dumb decision and wasn’t it better when you worked for someone else? (Btw, the answer to that last question is definitely no).
But this weirdness will fade, you’ll get clear on what it is you’re trying to do, who it is you want to serve and your brain will begin to shift and open up to new perspectives, possibilities and opportunities that will be so exciting.
As a mid-lifer, you’ve not be brought up with mobile devices keeping you entertained 24/7 – you likely remember playing board games for entertainment- remember those things made of colourful cardboard accompanied by little bits of plastic?
And you watched Penelope Pitstop, Dick Dastardly and Scooby-Doo on a Saturday morning on a TV with 3 channels.
The joy of all this is that you’ve lived.
Sure, there have been ups and downs, sorrow and sadness but that’s how you’ve become you, in all your glory.
You’re ready to get out there and use all that rich experience to make your business both fun and profitable.
A business that you enjoy whilst having time for other things too – after all it’s not like you’ve run out of things to do!
I’ve solopreneured my way through the last 15+ years and have learned – through working with organisations big and small and mentoring many solo businesses – that the same elements create success no matter what.
So the focus here is to help you build these elements for you.
When you make a shift to working for yourself a whole load of gremlins can appear. You know the ones.
Can I really do it? Is this going to be too difficult and it’s close cousin, oh come on just go back to the day job!
But you can elbow all those out of the way by inviting in optimism, focus, confidence and clarity and suddenly the right people are at the party.
Yes, there are lots of practical pieces to being your own boss, and you’ll get lots of pointers on how to cover those off, but fundamentally it’s how you think and behave that will be your make or break.
My bi-weekly, fortnightly, (or whatever you call every-other-week) newsletter is designed to get you in the right place to create both business success and to lead a fulfilling life (the best of all balance).
Yes, you can have that afternoon down at the beach or the unplanned long-weekend without having to submit a holiday request form!
Feel free to make contact, ask questions and let me know when you get stuck. I’m here to help.
Let’s go on this adventure together.
